Gadwal: Today, under the guidance of BJP Aija Town President Kampati Bhagat Reddy and BJP Aija Mandal President Gopalakrishna, a protest took place at the New Bus Stand in Aija. The protest demanded that the Telangana State Government release student scholarships and fee reimbursements immediately.
S. Ramachandra Reddy, a former BJP Jogulamba Gadwal district president, and Shiva Reddy, BJP’s candidate for the Gadwal Assembly constituency, attended the event. Many BJP activists and students joined in, chanting slogans against the current Congress-led state government.
During his speech, Ramachandra Reddy criticized the ruling Congress party. He said that despite their promises of change, students and common citizens have not seen any improvements.
“The situation for students is dire,” he stated. “Those from low-income families are worried about their futures. Government colleges lack enough seats, and when students choose private colleges, the promised fee reimbursements are delayed even after graduation.”
He highlighted that financial support is lacking, pushing students to abandon their studies to work in daily-wage jobs.
“It’s ironic,” he continued, “that while the government quickly taxes items like school shoes, it neglects to use these funds for releasing scholarships and reimbursements.”
Reddy stressed the importance of scholarships for students’ education and future. He noted that thousands are still waiting for their scholarship funds, creating anxiety among students and parents.
He warned that if this neglect persists, the student community’s frustration will grow. He predicted that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government might face large protests and a backlash in upcoming elections.
Prominent BJP figures like Aija Town Vice President Lakshman Goud, District OBC Morcha General Secretary Venkatesh Yadav, Pulikal Rajasekhar, K. Mahesh, and Rajasekhar joined the protest. Many students also participated, voicing their concerns and demanding justice.
