Hyderabad: A large explosion happened early Sunday morning at Telangana Spice Kitchen in Jubilee Hills, injuring two adults and a toddler.
The blast occurred around 5 AM, spreading debris across nearby areas and alarming residents. Cooking supplies were scattered, and a woman named Pooja and her daughter suffered minor injuries.
Local police quickly arrived to begin rescue operations. Two firefighting teams were also called to control the flames. In addition, three police investigation teams visited the site to start looking into the cause of the explosion.
According to the Fire Department, the blast was caused by an LPG gas leak from a pipe attached to a cylinder. The regulator knob was still on, and a spark from the deep freezer’s automatic switch triggered the explosion.
People living in huts nearby described the event as terrifying. Some residents, who were staying in an open plot next to the building, were fortunate to escape with only minor injuries. Several vehicles, including five two-wheelers and two private buses, along with the building’s compound wall, were damaged in the blast.
Khairtabad MLA Danam Nagender visited the scene to assess the situation and ensure help was provided.
