Yousufguda, Hyderabad: In a dramatic turn of events during polling day, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidate Maganti Sunitha staged a sit-in protest outside the Krishna Nagar polling booth in Yousufguda, alleging widespread electoral malpractices and bogus voting.

“Dead people’s votes are being cast using fake voter cards,” Maganti Sunitha alleged during her protest. She accused unidentified individuals of bringing forged voter identification documents to the polling booth to cast fraudulent votes.

According to the BRS candidate, more than 50 bogus votes were cast at this particular polling booth. She specifically pointed fingers at Congress party workers, alleging their involvement in the fake voting operation.

In a serious accusation, Sunitha claimed that election officials and police personnel were cooperating with those casting fraudulent votes. “Election officials and police are helping Congress workers who are facilitating fake voting,” she stated during her protest.

The Krishna Nagar polling booth witnessed tense moments as the protest unfolded, with the candidate refusing to leave until her concerns were addressed by authorities.

Electoral malpractices, including the use of fake voter cards and impersonation of voters, are punishable offenses under Indian election laws. The allegations made by the BRS candidate raise questions about the monitoring and supervision mechanisms at the polling station.
