Gadwal: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party has shown strong support for workers by backing a national strike against recent labor policies. These policies, introduced by both central and state governments, have been criticized for being anti-labor.
In Gadwal, a large public gathering took place, attracting key figures like Nagaradoddi Venkat Ramudu, TRS Minority Leader Athik Ur Rahman, and BRS District Coordinator Kuravapallayya. They used this event to voice their disapproval of changes that they say erode workers’ rights.
BRS leaders spoke out against new labor codes, which include extending the workday from 8 to 10 hours. They argue that these changes favor corporations over workers and threaten long-standing labor laws from 1926, 1946, and 1947 that protected an 8-hour workday.
The leaders accused the BJP at the national level and the Congress in Telangana of cooperating to weaken labor protections. They criticized Telangana’s government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, for supporting the 10-hour workday, calling it hypocritical.
The rally saw strong participation from groups like Anganwadi teachers, ASHA workers, and others. BRS leaders praised this unity and declared the strike a success. They reaffirmed their dedication to defending workers’ rights and urged all political parties to oppose anti-labor reforms.
As opposition to these new labor codes grows, the Gadwal rally highlights regional resistance and calls for policies that support India’s working class.
