Hyderabad – A letter from BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha to party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has stirred discussions within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). However, senior leaders have chosen to remain silent on the matter.
Kavitha returned to Hyderabad from the United States after attending her son’s graduation. She arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, where she received a warm welcome—not from the main BRS cadre, but from members of Telangana Jagruti and several Backward Class (BC) organizations. Supporters held signs and cutouts reading “Team Kavitha Akka,” showing their solidarity.
Despite the buzz, top BRS leaders refused to comment. When reporters questioned BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), he declined to respond immediately. “Why the rush?” he said, promising to speak later. T. Harish Rao, another senior figure, also avoided media questions.
Still, a few party members backed Kavitha’s concerns. V. Prakash, a founding member of the former TRS, spoke to a news channel. He said Kavitha’s letter included “valuable suggestions” and wasn’t a major issue. “Letters between leaders are normal,” he said. “But once it becomes public, people see it as indiscipline. Even so, this is not serious—KCR can resolve it in just two minutes.”
Prakash supported Kavitha’s claim that long-time party workers are being sidelined in public events. He pointed out that leaders like S. Madhusudhana Chary were only allowed to call names on stage, while only KCR and Erabelli Dayakar Rao gave speeches.
He also defended KCR’s speech strategy. “Every political meeting has a focus. This time it was the Congress, not the BJP,” he explained. “There’s nothing wrong with that.”
As speculation continues within the BRS, party leaders are expected to address the issue internally in the coming days.
