Hyderabad: A cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will take place on July 10 at the state Secretariat. The agenda includes discussions on new ration cards, land market value, stamp duty, local body elections, irrigation for the kharif season, and water release from the Medigadda barrage.
The cabinet might decide on local body elections, following a directive from the High Court to hold polls within three months, before September. Chief Minister Reddy plans to consult with cabinet members about the elections and assess the Congress party’s chances, considering public dissatisfaction over unfulfilled promises, despite recent Rythu Bandhu payments to farmers.
To boost revenue, the cabinet will evaluate current land market values and consider raising them, along with revising stamp duty. The State Revenue and Stamps and Registration department has prepared proposals to increase land values, especially around the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
The meeting will also address the delayed distribution of new ration cards. The State Civil Supplies department has started processing applications from those in need, both online and manually.
Water availability for the current farming season and resources from Krishna Godavari projects, including Kaleshwaram, will be reviewed. With farmers demanding water release from Medigadda barrage for irrigation, the government is expected to make a decision during the meeting.
