Hyderabad: To tackle ongoing administrative challenges and speed up the state’s welfare and development programs, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy plans to convene a state Cabinet meeting every two weeks. A second meeting is scheduled for later this month.
These meetings are expected to occur on the first and third Saturdays of each month. During these sessions, the Cabinet will review unresolved issues in every department and hasten decision-making.
The upcoming Cabinet meeting will address the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) report on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. Discussions will also include the Vigilance Commission‘s recommendations concerning irrigation officials involved in the project’s construction.
In a recent extended meeting, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy presented a detailed report on the NDSA findings, focusing on the damaged barrages: Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla.
Officials noted that the Chief Minister will decide on the NDSA and Vigilance Commission reports in the next session.
Ministers informed the Chief Minister about development projects stalled by administrative delays. Promptly, Revanth Reddy instructed his Cabinet to prepare action plans and comprehensive notes on these critical issues for the upcoming meeting.
The Chief Minister and ministers will evaluate the progress of schemes and development efforts in each Assembly constituency. They will address any delays immediately in coordination with officials. If necessary, Secretaries will be called upon for clarifications on unresolved issues.
The agenda for each Cabinet meeting will include topics such as farmers’ welfare, pending government and retired employee bills, Indiramma houses, ration card distribution, job recruitment, irrigation projects, and investigations into the phone tapping case, Formula E race case, and Kaleshwaram scheme.
Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao has been tasked with compiling a list of unresolved issues in each department for presentation at the next Cabinet meeting.
