Kurvapally, Jogulamba Gadwal District – A special Legal Awareness Seminar was held in Kurvapally village to help local farmers understand their legal rights concerning agriculture. The event was organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and focused on important issues like the Seed Act and how to avoid buying fake seeds.
Legal Aid Counsels B. Srinivasulu and Lakshmanaswamy led the session. They spoke directly with farmers, listened to their problems, and offered clear legal advice.
The counsels stressed that farmers should always ask for receipts when buying seeds, fertilizers, or pesticides. They also urged farmers to buy only from authorized dealers and to follow the advice of agriculture officers. Doing this helps ensure farmers get real, high-quality products.
They warned about the increasing risk of counterfeit seeds being sold in local markets. Farmers were encouraged to stay alert and double-check products before purchasing.
The seminar also taught farmers how to file complaints and take legal action if they face problems. They were informed about their rights under agriculture-related laws and shown how to protect themselves.
Farmers facing legal troubles can get free help by calling the national legal aid helpline 15100 or reaching out to the District Legal Services Authority at 08546-272677.
Panchayat Secretary Mrs. Gayatri Goud attended the event along with many local farmers and leaders.
This seminar is part of DLSA’s larger mission to empower rural communities. By spreading legal knowledge, the organization aims to protect farmers from scams and legal ignorance that often affect those in agriculture.
