The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has partnered with the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM) to offer a special certification course for CBSE Resource Persons. This collaboration is part of CBSE’s effort to follow the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which requires that all teachers and head teachers complete 50 hours of continuous professional development each year.
On Friday, CBSE announced that it has taken a significant step towards empowering its teachers by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ISTM. This MoU will allow CBSE to conduct a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) Certification Course. The course is designed to cover essential components related to child and adolescent development, as well as the core elements of the Directorate of Training and Development (DTS) and Department of Training (DoT).
The pilot program for this course was launched on Friday at the Academic Block of ISTM in New Delhi, with Rahul Singh, the Chairman of CBSE, leading the event. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, CBSE aims to train around 15,000 Resource Persons in multiple batches. These trained individuals will then help meet the training needs of approximately 13 lakh teachers across CBSE-affiliated schools.
