Hyderabad – The statue of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao will soon be placed at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi. The Delhi Urban Art Commission (DUAC) has officially approved the proposal, which was submitted by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
This approval clears the way for the installation of a bronze statue honoring the late leader. However, the Telangana government still needs to decide whether to place the statue at the current Telangana Bhavan or in a new building planned for the future.
The DUAC gave the green light during a meeting held on March 27. Their official minutes confirmed that the plan to install PV Narasimha Rao’s statue had been accepted. Despite this, officials at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi said they have not received any formal confirmation from either the central government or Delhi authorities.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had earlier revealed plans to construct a new Telangana Bhavan, following the division of the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan last year. With the DUAC’s approval now in place, the government must choose where to install the statue—at the current location or the new complex once it is built.
Officials at Telangana Bhavan plan to inform the state government as soon as they receive the official approval notice. Only after that will the final decision about the statue’s location be made.
