Hyderabad: Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy met with top leaders in Delhi to discuss expanding the state Cabinet and assigning portfolios. He talked with Rahul Gandhi, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, and party general secretary K C Venugopal.
The meeting lasted two hours. They talked about appointing new leaders for the TPCC executive, filling nominated positions, and issues like SC categorization and caste counting. Cabinet expansion and assigning roles to new ministers were also on the agenda.
With recent changes in the Telangana Cabinet, they considered adjusting the portfolios of current ministers. Some senior ministers manage multiple major roles, so they discussed redistributing these to others. On June 9, the Congress leadership announced new TPCC office-bearers. These decisions took into account caste dynamics and loyalty to the party. In this context, the Chief Minister spoke about filling vacant chairperson roles in various corporations to ensure fairness for those without positions.
Revanth Reddy suggested organizing two public meetings in the state to discuss SC categorization and the caste census. He invited leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Kharge to attend. Although dates are not set, Medak and Suryapet are chosen for rallies on SC categorization and the caste survey. They also considered topics like appointing four working presidents, local elections, and strengthening the Congress in the state.
The meeting aimed to reorganize portfolios for better governance and to meet party expectations. Some ministers were reportedly unhappy with their current roles, leading the party leadership to intervene.
