Hyderabad: T Harish Rao, a senior leader from the BRS, met with party chief K Chandrashekar Rao before his scheduled appearance at the Kaleshwaram Commission on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Harish Rao, along with other party members, visited the BRS chief’s farmhouse for the second day in a row. The day before, both Harish Rao and party working president KT Rama Rao had briefed KCR about the inquiry proceedings. Harish Rao had attended the inquiry, where he shared the commission’s questionnaire details.
BRS leaders assert that the decision on the Kaleshwaram project was made collectively by the state Cabinet, not individually. They claim all necessary protocols, including consultations with neighboring states and obtaining permissions, were strictly followed.
In a display of support, the party urged leaders from Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and nearby districts to gather at Telangana Bhavan in large numbers on Wednesday. MLAs, MPs, MLCs, and former public representatives were instructed to arrive before 10 am. KCR is expected to travel to BRKR Bhavan in a rally and meet the commission at 11 am.
Former BRS MLA A Jeevan Reddy suggested there is a conspiracy against KCR because opponents cannot challenge him politically. He mentioned that KCR received notices regarding the Kaleshwaram project, which he insists has no flaws. The people of Telangana view KCR’s questioning as a significant event.
Jeevan Reddy accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of promoting factionalism since taking office, predicting he will face consequences in the public arena. He encouraged party members to remain fearless against cases and investigations, urging them to persist in advocating for the people’s promises.
