Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced he is open to discussions with cinema workers to enhance their working conditions. He met with film producers and directors at his home on Sunday to address recent strikes and industry challenges. They also talked about government actions needed to boost the film sector globally.
He stressed the importance of improving the film industry’s work environment, assuring that the government is willing to help. Reddy played a key role in ending the recent strike by film workers.
Reddy proposed creating a fund to enhance skills across various film industry sectors. He is also eager to introduce film training at the Young India Skill University.
Acknowledging the Telugu film industry’s global presence, the Chief Minister called for immediate reforms in production and working conditions. He urged producers to compassionately address workers’ demands and suggested a new policy involving producers, workers, and the government to protect everyone’s interests.
Reddy encouraged a collaborative approach to address industry needs while warning against a few individuals dominating the system. He promised neutrality in film industry affairs and emphasized producing more Telugu films in Telangana, highlighting Hyderabad’s status as an international film hub. The government’s goal is to elevate the Telugu film industry worldwide.
Attendees included CM Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, producers like Allu Aravind and D. Suresh Babu, as well as directors Trivikram Srinivas and Boyapati Srinivas.
