Rangareddy: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in Rajendranagar has intensified efforts to shut down illegal businesses. Several eateries operating without a trade license were closed today.
A GHMC team, led by Deputy Commissioner K Ravi Kumar, inspected a tiffin center at Attapur junction. Lacking necessary permissions, the officials immediately shut it down.
Deputy Commissioner K Ravi Kumar stated, “We closed the tiffin center after they failed to provide a trade license.” He also noted that a nearby pan-shop had occupied the footpath, and parked vehicles were causing traffic issues.
GHMC warned businesses without licenses of strict consequences, including fines and penalties under the GHMC Act.
The officials did not reveal how many illegal businesses were found in Rajendranagar. Meanwhile, there are numerous complaints about footpath encroachments and heavy vehicle parking in Attapur.
Hawkers, such as fruit and vegetable vendors, are blocking footpaths at Attapur junction, making it difficult for pedestrians. Residents report that transport vehicles park on narrow roads in residential areas.
Additionally, new multi-storey buildings are being built without parking spaces, worsening parking problems.
Anil Kumar shared that residents face constant traffic jams in Attapur due to footpath encroachments by eateries and parked vehicles. He emphasized that buildings without parking spaces are making the situation worse.
Mohd Kareem, from Khaja Nagar in Attapur, mentioned that commercial establishments in residential areas are causing road blockages. He explained that heavy vehicles parked for long periods are creating traffic jams and disputes among residents.
