A vehicle from the Chief Minister’s convoy experienced a mechanical breakdown on a highway due to a tyre burst. The incident occurred at Exit 17 when the jammer vehicle’s right-side rear tyre suddenly burst while the convoy was in transit.

The jammer vehicle, which is a critical component of the CM’s security convoy, came to a halt immediately after the tyre burst. These specialized vehicles are equipped with technology to ensure the safety and security of the Chief Minister during travel.

The traffic team accompanying the convoy responded promptly to the situation. Working in coordination with the vehicle’s driver, they quickly assessed the damage and initiated repair procedures at the spot.

The team efficiently replaced the damaged right-side rear tyre with the stepney, which is the spare tyre carried in the vehicle for such emergencies. The entire operation was conducted swiftly to minimize any delay to the convoy’s schedule.

After completing the tyre replacement, the jammer vehicle was deemed fit to resume its duties. The vehicle then proceeded from Exit 17 and continued its journey toward the CM’s residence along with the rest of the convoy.

The incident highlighted the preparedness and quick response capabilities of the security and traffic personnel assigned to the Chief Minister’s convoy. Such vehicles are maintained to high standards, but tyre bursts can occur unexpectedly due to various factors including road conditions and extended travel.

No injuries were reported during the incident, and the breakdown did not cause any significant disruption to the convoy’s movement. The traffic team’s prompt action ensured that security protocols remained intact throughout the incident.

The convoy successfully reached its destination after the brief halt for repairs. The damaged tyre is expected to be replaced with a new one during the vehicle’s next scheduled maintenance check.

Security vehicles in VIP convoys undergo regular maintenance and safety checks to prevent such incidents. However, the presence of spare tyres and trained personnel ensures that minor mechanical issues can be resolved quickly without compromising the safety of the dignitaries being protected.
