CM Revanth Reddy Opens Amgen India Facility in Hyderabad

Hyderabad has strengthened its reputation as a biotechnology and life sciences hub with the opening of Amgen India’s new facility in Madhapur. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the center, marking an important step toward Telangana’s growth in scientific innovation and global investment.

The partnership between Telangana and Amgen began when CM Revanth Reddy visited the United States in August. During the visit, the Telangana government signed an agreement with Amgen, a well-known global biotechnology company. Now, Amgen has officially launched its first development center in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad’s Growing Role in Biotechnology

Speaking at the event, CM Revanth Reddy expressed pride that Amgen chose Hyderabad for its first development center in India. He stated that this move would boost the city’s reputation as a major hub for innovation and technology in the biotechnology and life sciences sectors.

Earlier, CM Revanth Reddy and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu had visited Amgen’s research and development center in San Francisco. There, they observed the company’s dedication to scientific research, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical advancements. The Chief Minister highlighted that Amgen’s presence in Hyderabad would strengthen Telangana’s leadership in these fields and attract more global investors.

“Our government is committed to making Telangana a trillion-dollar economy and positioning Hyderabad among the world’s top cities as part of the ‘China Plus One’ strategy,” he said. He also assured Amgen of full government support in research, skill development, and academic partnerships, encouraging the company to expand its investments in Telangana.

Global Leaders Attend the Inauguration

Several important dignitaries attended the event, including Amgen Chairman and CEO Robert A. Bradway, U.S. Consul General in Hyderabad Jennifer Larson, and Amgen Senior Vice President Derrick Miller. IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu was also present, reinforcing Telangana’s commitment to attracting top global companies.

With Amgen’s arrival, Hyderabad is set to grow further in the biotechnology industry, strengthening its position as a global innovation hub.
