Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy has asked officials to speed up the development of Green Pharma City, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad. He emphasized that the city should be a pollution-free zone. This was discussed during a review meeting at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, where IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, and other senior officials were present. The Chief Minister stressed that this project should be a model for sustainable industrial growth.
The Green Pharma City will be located in the Mucherla area, which spans across Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar districts. The city will use the latest global technology to ensure an eco-friendly and pollution-free environment. Revanth Reddy directed officials to involve landowners who lost their land in the project by making them partners in its development. He asked for plans to be made to facilitate this process.
The Chief Minister also asked for quick progress in building essential infrastructure for the city such as roads, drinking water supply, electricity, and drainage systems. He urged officials to think about future needs and ensure that the infrastructure is strong enough to meet them.
Revanth Reddy mentioned that several well-known pharmaceutical companies have already shown interest in investing in Green Pharma City. Discussions with these companies are expected to happen soon. The city aims to be a central hub for pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences companies.
The key sectors within Green Pharma City will include the production of antibiotics, synthetic drugs, chemicals, vitamins, vaccines, and more. The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of research and development. He announced plans to establish a specialized university focused on healthcare, pharmaceutical education, and skill development. This initiative will also help create more job opportunities in these sectors.
