Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is set to start distributing long-awaited ration cards at a public event in Tirumalagiri, within the Thungathurthy Assembly Constituency, on July 14. On this day, the government aims to hand out 2.40 lakh ration cards statewide.
This distribution will help roughly 11.30 lakh impoverished individuals. With these new cards, the total number of ration card holders in the state will rise to 94.72 lakh, aiding 3.14 crore residents.
Officials noted that priority is being given to applicants who submitted their requests manually for this round of ration card distribution. Previously, only online applicants received ration cards from the state Civil Supplies Department. Many applications from the Praja Vani program will be addressed during this new distribution.
New ration card holders will be able to receive fine rice from fair price shops once their names are added to the PDS beneficiaries list in their areas. Officials also mentioned that the new cards include enhanced safety features, allowing for multiple uses in the future.
