Hyderabad: On Thursday, the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) announced the first round of seat allotments for the Degree Online Service, Telangana (DOST) admissions for undergraduate courses. Prof V Balakista Reddy, who is both the Chairman of TGCHE and Convenor of DOST, reported that 60,436 students received seats in this initial phase. He congratulated them and revealed that 89,572 candidates had registered for this phase. Registration was completed through three methods: Aadhaar Mobile-linked OTP authentication (84,820 candidates), DOST App authentication (2,030 candidates), and Mee Seva biometric authentication (2,722 candidates). Among those registered, 65,191 candidates selected their preferred colleges online, and 60,436 were assigned seats.
However, 4,755 students who chose colleges online did not receive seats due to limited options. Of those allocated seats, 42,014 students received their first-choice, while 18,422 got their second-choice. Commerce was the most popular stream, with 21,758 allotments, followed by Physical Sciences (15,249), Life Sciences (11,005), Arts (5,986), and other streams (6,438), totaling 60,436 allotments. In terms of language, 58,575 candidates opted for English, 1,552 for Telugu, none for Hindi, and 309 for Urdu. Regarding gender, 38,041 seats were given to girls and 22,395 to boys. A total of 805 colleges participated in DOST 2025, offering 457 courses. The total seats available were 371,096, with 334,960 web options exercised. Notably, 74 colleges did not receive any students.
Students with allotted seats must reserve them via Online Self-Reporting from May 30 to June 6 by paying either Rs 500 or Rs 1,000 through the DOST Candidate Login. Those who secured seats in Government Degree Colleges or University Colleges and are eligible for the ePASS fee reimbursement (pending verification of caste and income certificates) do not need to pay for seat reservation during this process.
