Karimnagar: In just four months, Huzurabad Municipal Commissioner Kemsarapu Sammaiah has made significant progress in his role. The area ranked first in the state for property tax collection in March, securing funds from the 15th Finance Commission. Sammaiah effectively engages the community to raise awareness.
Medical and blood donation camps, along with programs highlighting waste separation, are ongoing. On Telangana Formation Day, a new initiative began to plant 200,000 saplings this year.
Sammaiah also organized summer training camps funded by donors, not the government. Children participated in sports like kabaddi, chess, carroms, volleyball, basketball, hockey, and karate. A free camp at Huzurabad Government High School was particularly popular.
Sammaiah shared that these camps, aimed at fostering sportsmanship, will continue. Talented individuals from each ward will be recognized. MEO Srinivas, along with various sports associations and local dignitaries, ensured the camp’s success.
Around 200 children joined the camp, held from 6 to 8 am, with guidance from coaches. The school ground buzzed with activity. Parents appreciated the initiative, noting that such camps promote friendship and leadership skills.
Local donors provided breakfast, such as bananas and eggs, to support the municipality’s sports efforts. Children learning karate from black belt master Bhusarapu Bapurao decided to collect Rs 100 each from their pocket money to provide bananas to 150 people.
Sammaiah emphasized involving people in social programs to promote democracy and achieve great results. Recently, Manasa became a junior civil judge in Siddhartha Nagar, Dasari Sarala was recognized for her government service, Banda Sampath Reddy advanced in the police department, and former councilor Swaroopa Mutyam Rao received honors.
