A Task Force Committee was set up in Hyderabad on Thursday to tackle delays in NHAI and MoRTH projects due to issues between different departments.
R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy led the first meeting at the Secretariat. The focus was on solving problems like forest clearances, shifting utilities, acquiring land, and improving coordination between departments. Officials were urged to quickly handle long-standing issues with irrigation, water supply, electrical lines, and mining permits.
The discussion also covered specific projects such as the Warangal-Khammam (NH-163G), Sitarama Lift Irrigation Greenfield Corridor, and the Kalwakurthy–Srisailam elevated corridor. The Minister promised to work with other departments and talk with Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy to speed up approvals for pending clearances.
The Minister stressed the importance of department cooperation for the Task Force’s success. He announced that regular reviews would happen to push projects forward and address obstacles quickly.
He described the Regional Ring Road (RRR) project as “a crown jewel for Telangana.” He was optimistic that work would start soon and mentioned that land acquisition for the northern part was nearly done. The plan to upgrade to a six-lane road had caused some delays.
