Hyderabad is preparing to honor two significant leaders to boost support for 42% Backward Classes (BC) reservation. The Congress party plans to place statues of former BC Welfare Minister M Mukesh Goud and former Union Minister P Shiv Shankar in the city. This move aims to gain momentum for the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
PCC (Pradesh Congress Committee) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced this plan on Mukesh Goud’s death anniversary. Mahesh Goud stated that there is increasing demand for statues of BC leaders who served the city. They will decide the location after consulting Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
In a casual discussion with the media, Ponnam Prabhakar confirmed the decision to honor these leaders for their services to the BC community and the party. He emphasized that their contributions are significant, and discussions with the Chief Minister will finalize the details for installing the statues.
