Hyderabad / Kamareddy: The Congress party will hold a large gathering in Kamareddy on September 15 to celebrate the introduction of 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in local government bodies. PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud mentioned that this event will also challenge opposition parties and highlight the BJP’s alleged efforts to obstruct the BC Bill at the national level.
During a preparatory meeting, the MLC noted that the rally aligns with his one-year anniversary as PCC chief and fulfills a significant electoral promise. He stated, “This isn’t merely a celebration. It’s a message to the nation that Congress keeps its promises. The BC Bill, approved by the Telangana Assembly, demonstrates our dedication to social justice.”
Congress representatives criticized the BJP for attempting to disrupt the legislation, accusing them of using religious propaganda. They also targeted BRS MLC K Kavitha, labeling her as the ‘Liquor Queen,’ claiming her involvement in a liquor scam embarrassed Nizamabad district.

He credited Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for reviving the BC movement, stating that both the BC Declaration and Reservation Bill were announced in Kamareddy and are now being implemented there.
Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy declared that the Kamareddy rally would be historic in both scale and spirit. Minister D Seethakka accused BJP and BRS leaders of boycotting the caste census and politicizing the BC Bill.
