Gadwal: The Congress members in Alampur constituency celebrated enthusiastically after the Telangana State Assembly approved a 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs).
At the Alampur crossroads, Congress leaders and workers honored Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and former MLA Dr. S.A. Sampath Kumar by pouring milk on their portraits, showing their excitement for the achievement.
Prominent leaders like Market Committee Chairman Doddappa, representative Shekshavali Achari, Undavalli Mandal President Gopal, and Seetharam Reddy joined the celebration, along with many senior Congress leaders and supporters.
Later, a memorial meeting in Kanchupadu village, Undavalli Mandal, honored the late leader Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy. AICC Secretary and former Alampur MLA Dr. S.A. Sampath Kumar paid tribute to him.
In honor of the late leader, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy approved several development projects for Kanchupadu, following Dr. Sampath Kumar’s request:
- ₹3 crore for a BT road
- ₹1 crore for upgrading the UPS school
- Indiramma houses for five poor families
A special Government Order was issued within 24 hours of the assurance, ensuring the projects were promptly assigned to the relevant departments and Sudhakar Reddy’s family.
Dr. Sampath Kumar, speaking at the memorial, recalled his close relationship with Sudhakar Reddy, describing him as an unparalleled leader in the history of the undivided Mahbubnagar district. He mentioned Sudhakar Reddy’s wish for road and housing improvements for the poor, now realized through the Chief Minister’s support.
Suravaram family members expressed deep gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Dr. Sampath Kumar for their swift actions and dedication to Sudhakar Reddy’s legacy.
The memorial and development announcements attracted a large crowd of Congress leaders, members, and local villagers, who praised the government’s dedication to social justice and local development.
