Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court decided not to stop the government from taking action against former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and ex-minister T. Harish Rao. This decision relates to the PC Ghose Commission report. A division bench led by Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G M Mohiuddin instructed their counsel to find out by Tuesday if the government plans to act on the report.
The Chief Justice asked the government’s counsel to clarify if any action would be taken immediately or if plans were still being made, highlighting the urgency of the matter. The court scheduled the next hearing for the two cases filed by KCR and Harish Rao on October 7. They requested that no action be taken against them until the court makes a final decision on their writs.
Senior Counsel Aryama Sundaram, representing Harish, urged the court to prevent any government action against the BRS leaders at least until Monday. He expressed concern that Harish might be arrested as the Chief Minister recently announced in the Assembly that severe actions would be enforced, including involving the CBI.
Dama Seshadri Naidu, another senior counsel for KCR, and Sundaram asked the court to listen to their case at 2:15 pm. They noted that the government had decided to transfer the investigation into irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project to the CBI. They feared the government might issue orders under Section 6(2) of the Police Act, which could lead to the arrest of KCR and Harish Rao. The court will review their writs during the next hearing.
