Lal Darwaja is bustling with activity today, July 20, as the Mahankali Ammavari Bonalu festival begins. Many people are coming to offer bonals to the goddess, creating a lively and respectful atmosphere around the temple.
To manage the large crowds, temple officials have set up special lines for those with bonals, making the visit easier for everyone. The temple is beautifully decorated, and devotional songs fill the air. However, due to so many visitors, people often have to wait a long time for their turn to see the goddess.
For everyone’s safety and comfort, extensive arrangements are in place. Around 2,500 police officers are present, ensuring security during the celebrations. CCTV cameras help monitor the area, with both city and district police working together.
To prevent crime, special units are actively watching for pickpockets and chain snatchers. Officers in plain clothes are also on the lookout for any troublemakers. The Rapid Action Force is positioned in sensitive spots to keep everything orderly.
As a precaution, the government has closed all wine shops during the festival. Traffic restrictions around the temple help devotees move safely and without hassle.
