Operation Kagar, a major mission to eliminate Maoist insurgents in the Karregutta region, has been put on hold. This pause follows the Indian government’s decision to pull out over 5,000 personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
The move comes at a time of rising tensions triggered by a recent conflict between India and Pakistan. As a result, the CRPF’s elite Cobra units, which were active in Karregutta, have been asked to return to their base near the Telangana border.
This sudden withdrawal has brought some relief to nearby tribal and agency villages. With fewer troops on the ground, the heavy security presence that had become a daily routine is now easing.
The CRPF is now preparing to shift its focus. Starting tomorrow, their forces will be redeployed to strengthen security along the Indo-Pak border. This redirection highlights how the government is adjusting its priorities to manage both domestic threats and international tensions.
The temporary suspension of Operation Kagar reflects a larger strategy, balancing internal security challenges with the need to safeguard national borders during sensitive times.
