Hyderabad – As the festival of Bakrid approaches, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand issued a strong warning: anyone caught sharing videos of cattle slaughter on social media will face serious consequences.
He emphasized that while protecting cattle is important, it must be done within the boundaries of the law. He urged cow protection groups not to take matters into their own hands and to avoid any illegal activity, especially at city check posts.
During a key meeting with several Gau Seva organizations, Anand encouraged these groups to support peace during the celebrations. He asked them to report any suspicious activity directly to the police by calling 8712661155 and to share any useful photos or videos with the authorities instead of posting them online.
The meeting focused on keeping the festival peaceful and law-abiding. Members of various cow protection foundations expressed their deep commitment to preventing cruelty to animals. They also spoke about their ongoing efforts to promote cow-based farming, which they say benefits the environment and supports traditional agriculture.
They stressed their moral duty to protect cows, which provide essential dairy products like milk and curd, and criticized the rising trend of people uploading disturbing videos of animal killings. They called for strict action against those responsible for such posts.
Additional Commissioner of Police Vikram Singh Mann also attended the meeting, along with senior officers including DCPs, ACPs, and leaders from prominent Goseva groups such as Kolishetti Sivakumar of Yuga Tulsi Foundation and Deepak Singh, President of Gorakshak Dal, Telangana.
The police reassured all participants that they would offer full support to ensure a safe and respectful celebration for all communities.
