Dattatreya honors Army Major for river rafting achievement

Hyderabad: Bandaru Dattatreya, the former Governor of Haryana, honored Major Kavitha Vasupalli VSM at his home in Ramnagar on Monday. Major Kavitha, from Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, serves as a Medical Officer in the Indian Army.

Recently, Major Kavitha became the only woman participant in a record-breaking rafting expedition on the Brahmaputra River. This journey covered 1,040 kilometers over 28 days. Col Ranveer Singh Jamwal, SM, VSM, who directs the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS), led this remarkable initiative.
