Gadwal celebrated Ashada Shuddha Ekadashi with vibrant religious events across the district. Many devotees gathered at major temples to partake in spiritual rituals and processions filled with enthusiasm and devotion.
At the Ambabhavani Temple, a colorful procession was held for Tholi Ekadashi. The festival idols of Lord Panduranga and Goddess Rukmini were paraded grandly from the temple to the sacred Jami Tree. Devotees filled the air with bhajans and devotional songs. After a holy visit to the Jami Tree, the deities returned to the temple. There, special rituals were performed for Goddess Ambabhavani, with families praying for peace and prosperity.
Meanwhile, at the Katakinda Thimmappa Swamy Temple, devotees gathered for special rituals honoring Lord Thimmappa Swamy. The temple resonated with sacred chants as traditional ceremonies took place, seeking blessings during the spiritually significant Ekadashi of Ashada month.
Tholi Ekadashi, on the 11th day of Ashada’s bright fortnight, is a sacred day for Hindus. Fasting and prayers on this day are believed to cleanse sins and invite divine grace. It also marks the start of Chaturmasya, a four-month period of intense spiritual activities.
