DGP tells police to ensure tight security for Miss World events

Hyderabad is getting ready to host the Miss World 2025 events, and the Telangana Police are stepping up to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.

Dr. Jitender, the Director General of Police (DGP) for Telangana, announced that a centralised control system will be set up. This system will coordinate all security operations at event locations and tour spots across the state.

He proudly shared that the Telangana Police, recognized as the top-performing police force in India, will offer strong and efficient protection for guests and contestants from over 120 countries. Their goal is to show the world how capable and professional the state’s police force is.

In a high-level meeting held at the DGP’s office on Friday, Dr. Jitender reviewed the security plans with senior officers. He emphasized the importance of the event, noting that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had recently instructed the police to treat the pageant as an opportunity to boost Telangana’s global image. The Chief Minister stressed the need for tight and foolproof security measures.

According to the DGP, Miss World contestants will travel across different regions of Telangana in groups over a month-long period. Guests have already started arriving, and the grand opening ceremony is set for May 10.

Several key locations in and around Hyderabad will host visits by the contestants. These include Lal Bazaar, the Telangana Secretariat, Yadagirigutta Temple (under the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate), Uppal Stadium, Pochampally, and Ramoji Film City.

Many top police officials joined the security meeting. These included Additional DGP Mahesh M Bhagwat, ADGP Stephen Ravindra (who is also the nodal officer for Miss World security), Fire Services Director Nagi Reddy, Hyderabad Additional CP Vikram Singh Mann, Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, and Rachakonda Commissioner Sudheer Babu. Intelligence IGP Karthikeya also participated.

The DGP also spoke via video call with police heads from Warangal, Mulugu, Nalgonda, and Mahabubnagar, ensuring every region is ready for this high-profile global event.
