Hyderabad is getting ready to fight the scorching summer heat. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has started setting up 42 cooling stations across the city.
One cooling station is already working near Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital. This is just the beginning of a larger effort to help people stay cool during the extreme summer temperatures.
The goal is simple: provide clean drinking water to the public during the hottest months. These facilities will help pedestrians, daily commuters, and visitors stay hydrated while on the move.
You’ll soon find these cooling spots in busy places like government hospitals, bus stops, railway stations, Rythu Bazaars, public markets, and at major traffic junctions within Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.
Many of these stations are already in place and serving people. The remaining ones will be up and running soon. This move is a step toward ensuring that citizens have easy access to safe drinking water, especially during peak summer hours.
