Gadwal, Telangana – On Friday, District Collector B.Y.M. Santhosh led a high-level meeting at the IDOC Conference Hall to review progress on three major initiatives: Indiramma housing, the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, and paddy procurement centers. The meeting brought together senior officials to assess implementation and remove delays.
The Collector focused first on the Indiramma housing project. He reviewed progress across each mandal and asked for updates on foundation work, marking, and re-verification of approved houses. He urged officials to motivate beneficiaries to speed up construction and to guide them on cost-effective building methods.
To ensure faster fund disbursement, the Collector asked staff to update progress reports regularly in the online system. Based on the stage of construction, government funds will go straight into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. He stressed the need for teamwork and quick execution, especially in municipal areas, where daily field visits and on-the-spot support should be provided. He made it clear that only eligible poor families should receive Indiramma houses.
Turning to the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, the Collector pushed for faster screening of applications. He told officials to verify each application thoroughly, checking documents like Aadhaar, income, and caste certificates. MPDOs and municipal commissioners were asked to sort the applications by bank and corporation and send them to the respective banks. Bankers must then review them and submit eligibility reports. Officials were reminded to approve only those who truly qualify for the program. Coordination between district departments and banks is key to meeting the scheme’s goals, he said.
On the issue of paddy procurement, Collector Santhosh stressed the importance of smooth operations at every procurement center. He directed staff to immediately log every transaction in the OPMS system. Moisture content in the paddy should be checked, and if within limits, it should be purchased without delay and sent to the designated mills.
He also warned against any shortage of gunny bags. With recent dust storms and unexpected rain, he instructed officials to provide tarpaulins to keep the paddy dry. Civil Supplies officers must visit centers regularly and stay alert to any issues. Only paddy that meets quality standards should be accepted, and the process should move quickly.
Several key officials attended the meeting, including Additional District Collector Narsinga Rao, ED SC Corporation Ramesh Babu, LDM Srinivasa Rao, Civil Supplies Officer Swami Kumar, DM Vimala, Housing PD Srinivasulu, and various municipal commissioners and MPDOs.
The Collector’s message was clear: speed, accuracy, and teamwork are essential to deliver these crucial programs effectively to the people.
