Gadwal: District Collector BM Santosh spoke to students about the importance of setting clear goals and working hard to achieve them. He was addressing students at an orientation program for the UPSC Civil Services Examinations held at M.A.L.D. College on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. District SP T. Srinivas Rao also attended the event and joined the District Collector in speaking to the students.
Collector Santosh explained that the main purpose of the orientation program was to help students understand the syllabus and how to prepare for civil service exams. He shared his own experiences, emphasizing that hard work, perseverance, and motivation are key to succeeding in the IAS exams. He encouraged students to study regularly instead of cramming at the last minute.
He further advised students to focus on the syllabus, model papers, basics, and current affairs by reading newspapers. He also stressed the importance of combining hard work with smart work, suggesting that students use online classes and group study to enhance their knowledge. According to him, group discussions on various subjects can save time and improve learning outcomes.
District SP T. Srinivas Rao also shared his experiences, urging students to pursue their goals with determination and a well-structured plan. He mentioned that quality coaching for civil services is available not just in Hyderabad, but also in Gadwal. He encouraged the students to build self-confidence and overcome laziness and self-doubt. He emphasized that with a proper plan, students could become role models. The SP also motivated students to make a strong resolution on Teachers’ Day to aim for higher goals and highlighted the new opportunities available for young women due to the implementation of 33% reservation for women.
During the event, the District Collector and SP jointly released posters to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drugs, the role of She Teams, and traffic regulations.
