Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh highlighted the importance of regular attendance and dedication for students aiming to achieve success. On Tuesday, he unexpectedly visited the Zilla Parishad High School in Maladkal mandal.
During his visit, he checked the classrooms, school environment, midday meal services, food quality, science lab, and other resources. The Collector stated that education is a top priority for the government. He insisted that students in government schools should receive good education and nutritious meals according to the set menu.
He mentioned that essential facilities, teacher appointments, quality teaching, and infrastructure are being provided to support this. He encouraged teachers to focus on students’ academic performance and health and ensure regular attendance.
Collector Santosh remarked that attentive and disciplined students, even those of average ability, can achieve significant success such as becoming an IAS officer or a scientist. This year, there are 104 students in the 10th grade, and the aim is for all to pass with a 100% success rate.
He expressed disappointment over last year’s results, where no student scored above 540 marks, and urged students to improve. He announced that top scorers will be honored at district-level events. He advised students to utilize government-provided opportunities and plan their futures strategically.
He was pleased that the school was chosen under the PM SHRI scheme and promised to provide all necessary facilities for the students’ benefit. Teachers were asked to hold special classes to ensure students fully grasp their subjects. The quality committee must also check the food before serving.
The Collector noted that the district improved its state ranking from 32nd to 23rd, with a target of reaching at least 15th place next year. He emphasized that many successful individuals have emerged from government schools, including those in Gadwal.
He encouraged students to dream big and take small, steady steps daily towards their goals.
The event was attended by Mandal Education Officer Mr. Suresh, School Coordinator Ms. Esther Rani, teachers, and others.
