Hyderabad – The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) is working hard to make undergraduate admissions smooth and student-focused. Prof. V Balakista Reddy, who leads both TGCHE and DOST (Degree Online Services, Telangana), stressed the need for complete support to students applying through the DOST system.
On Monday, Prof. Reddy held a virtual meeting with over 130 principals and admission coordinators from government degree colleges across the state. These officials are in charge of help line centres, which assist students during the admission process.
He urged the staff to keep these centres running efficiently until all admissions are completed. These centres exist only to support students, he reminded attendees. Prof. Reddy also answered questions and cleared up doubts about the current admission process.
To make sure no student misses out, he encouraged colleges to spread awareness about DOST. He suggested using newspapers, banners, and television to inform students and parents about the steps involved.
To reach more students directly, Prof. Reddy personally asked S Krishna Aditya, Secretary of the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE), to share important DOST details with all students who passed their Intermediate Second Year. The Secretary agreed to take action.
Prof. Reddy also encouraged students to use every available tool and support system to understand the application process and make informed choices.
Other officials present at the meeting included Prof. Rajender Singh and Prof. P. Balabhaskar, both Joint Directors at the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, along with P. Hemanth, Senior Project Manager at CGG, and the team from the DOST Office.
The message is clear: Telangana wants every eligible student to have a fair chance at higher education, with full guidance and support throughout the process.
