An awareness program was held for medical officers and supervisory staff from primary health centers in Nagarkurnool district. The program focused on insect-borne diseases and was organized by the district medical and health department. State Malaria Additional Director Dr. Amar Singh emphasized the importance of raising awareness about diseases like dengue, malaria, pilaria, and chicken pox that are spread through mosquito bites. He advised medical officers to educate people on eradicating mosquitoes to prevent the spread of these diseases.
To control mosquito-borne diseases, it is crucial for everyone to maintain cleanliness, avoid stagnant water in the house, keep areas dry, use mosquito nets, and raise awareness about their benefits. District medical officer K. Sudhakar Lal emphasized the need for people to know about available tests and medicines for diseases like malaria and dengue. Several officials including DM&HO K. Sudhakar Lal, Deputy Director Venkatesh, Entomologist Saidulu, and others participated in the event.
The program also discussed precautions to avoid insect-borne diseases and highlighted the importance of testing and treatment options. Medical officers and supervisory staff from primary health centers in the district were present at the event to learn and spread awareness about preventing mosquito-borne illnesses.
