Gadwal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Ayija Town celebrated Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee’s birth anniversary with enthusiasm. The event was organized by Kompati Bhagat Reddy, the local BJP President.
Jogulamba Gadwal District BJP President, Tapala RamAnjaneyulu, and former district president S. Ramachandra Reddy spoke at the gathering. They shared insights into Dr. Mukherjee’s impactful life and contributions.
Dr. Mukherjee’s birth anniversary falls on July 6, commemorating his birth in 1901. He was a key political figure, a skilled educationist, and a legal expert in post-independence India.
In 1951, Dr. Mukherjee founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which eventually became the BJP. As a Union Minister, he notably influenced national education policies.
The speakers highlighted Dr. Mukherjee’s firm stance against Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. He opposed having separate laws and governance in one nation, famously stating, “There cannot be two Constitutions, two Prime Ministers, and two flags in one nation.”
They regarded him as a champion of national unity, noting his sacrifice for the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir into India.
Many local BJP members attended, including Rajagopal, KK Reddy, Ravi Egbote, Swapna, Nageshwar Reddy, Gopalakrishna, Sanjeeva Reddy, K. Narsinglu, Veeresh Goud, Lakshmanachari, Upender Reddy, Shashi Kumar, Ramakrishna, and Rajasekhar.
The event ended with participants paying floral tributes to Dr. Mukherjee and renewing their commitment to his vision of unity, sovereignty, and patriotism.
