The State government in Hyderabad is planning to develop eco-tourism projects, with a focus on making Kawal in north Telangana and Amarabad Tiger Reserve project in south Telangana major tourist spots. The Forest department officials will work with the Tourism department to prepare proposals for these projects.
The Chief Minister has instructed officials to identify scenic forests, wild animal habitats, migratory birds, biodiversity areas, heritage sites, and places reflecting Telangana culture for development as tourism spots. The aim is to gain international recognition for the natural beauty of forests and tourist areas.
Special emphasis has been placed on ensuring that wild animals are not harmed by tourism projects, with a focus on implementing safety and security measures in forest camps for tourists. Industries following pollution norms will be encouraged, and certificates of appreciation will be given to organizations maintaining zero pollution on Environment Day every year.
Strict measures will be taken to control the use of single-use plastic, with notices and heavy fines issued to industries violating rules. The State’s IFS cadre strength was also discussed, with 55 out of 81 sanctioned posts filled and 26 vacant. The government plans to appeal to the Union government for more IFS allocations without vacancies.
