Regency College in Hyderabad, celebrating 30 years in hospitality education, recently held a French-themed lunch called ‘Déjeuner Royal’. Organized by 5th Semester BHMCT students with guidance from Chef Rohith Rajole, the event highlighted the students’ culinary skills, creativity, and teamwork. This showcased the college’s dedication to preparing students for successful careers in hospitality.
French cuisine was chosen for its worldwide reputation and deep roots, reflecting the growing relationship between India and France in tourism and hospitality. With French hotel chains expanding in India, students have more opportunities to excel in the hospitality industry. Learning French culinary techniques helps them acquire important skills, understand fine dining etiquette, and prepare for luxury hospitality roles globally.
Guests entered a charming vintage French setting, featuring a grand entry wall, a wine-and-flower fountain, and an Eiffel Tower sculpture made of margarine. The Radiance & Crème dessert boutique offered a selection of French treats like macarons and artisan sweets. The college displayed tributes to famous chefs, while elegant meat displays and the Gallic Rooster centerpiece symbolized French heritage and timeless artistry.
An 8-course menu was served, complemented by personalized butler service. Each course was paired with wines to enhance the flavors and reflect the elegance of French dining. A highlight was the live Salt-Crusted Fish station, where the crust was broken open and served on the spot, adding an interactive element. With beautiful plating, smooth transitions between courses, and meticulous attention to detail, guests enjoyed an authentic French dining experience.
