Sircilla: For the first time, a person who illegally occupied government land has voluntarily surrendered it back to the authorities.

Sunchula Kumaraswamy, a resident of Sarampalli village in Tangallapally mandal, handed over three acres of encroached government land. This was announced by District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha during a press conference held at the integrated district Collectorate on Tuesday. The event was also attended by Superintendent of Police (SP) Akhil Mahajan.

According to the Collector, Kumaraswamy had been cultivating the government land, located in village survey number 464. He emphasized that anyone involved in land encroachment in the district should come forward and surrender the land voluntarily. These lands, he explained, will be used for public welfare, including distributing house titles to the poor and constructing Indiramma houses.
