Final farewell to police sniffer dog Tara

Adilabad: Tara, a Labrador retriever who joined the Adilabad police dog squad in 2013, served for 12 years before retiring. After two years of retirement, she became ill a few days ago and sadly passed away on Thursday morning.

To honor Tara’s service, Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan attended her last rites. He paid tribute by draping a shawl and placing garlands on her. He also saluted her for her dedicated work.

During the event, the SP praised the police dog squad for their role in detecting explosives and ensuring safety during VIP visits to the district. He acknowledged the important contributions made by dogs like Tara.

The SP also instructed officers to improve the facilities for police dogs. He suggested setting up coolers for them, especially during the hot summer months.

Reserve Inspector D. Venkat, T. Murali, Tirumalesh, and others were also present at the farewell ceremony.
