Food Safety Issues Found at Two Jubilee Hills Restaurants

Food safety teams recently inspected two restaurants in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad—Kishkinda Kitchen (Kake di Hatti) and Poshnosh Lounge and Bar—and discovered several violations.

At Kishkinda Kitchen, inspectors found unhygienic conditions, including cockroaches in the kitchen and rat droppings in the storage area, indicating a rodent problem. Expired food items were discarded during the inspection. The staff were not following basic hygiene practices, as food handlers were not wearing gloves. Additionally, important documents such as water quality reports, food safety certificates, and medical records were missing. The refrigerators were dirty and filled with food waste, while kitchen drains were blocked. Inspectors also noted that food and non-food items were improperly stored together.

At Poshnosh Lounge and Bar, the restaurant was found to be operating with an expired license since December 2024. Key documents, including water reports, pest control records, food safety certificates, and medical records, were not available. The kitchen environment was unhygienic, with unclean refrigerators and no proper drains to manage food waste. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food were stored together, and many items were kept directly on the floor. Expired food was thrown away, and cashew nuts were found to be infested with insects.

Authorities are expected to take further action to ensure food safety standards are maintained at these establishments.
