Forest and Endowment Minister Indrakaran Reddy has emphasized the importance of sports for mental and physical health. He inaugurated a free summer sports training camp organized by the District Sports Authority at NTR Mini Stadium on Friday. The training is available for girls aged 6 to 16 years in 110 villages of Nirmal Constituency. The camp will offer training in 44 different sports, including athletics, badminton, karate, volleyball, and carrom, until May 31.
Minister Reddy said that sports are not only important for relieving stress but also for students’ overall development. He encouraged parents to take advantage of these camps and instructed officials to take necessary precautions during the training due to the summer season. The government is taking many measures to develop sports and support athletes, he added.
The program was attended by District Collector Varun Reddy, Municipal Chairman Gandrath Eshwar, Chairman of District Library Institutions Errawothu Rajender, and others.
