Gaddam Prasad Poised to Become the New Speaker of the Assembly

Congress MLA Gaddam Prasad Kumar is set to be elected as the Speaker of Telangana Assembly without any opposition. Prasad Kumar, who represents Vikarabad, has filed his nomination for the post and received support from 111 MLAs. He submitted his nomination papers to the Legislative Assembly Secretary V Narasimhacharyulu. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and other ministers were present during the nomination filing. The seven AIMIM MLAs have also pledged their support for Prasad Kumar’s candidature. The Speaker’s election will take place on Thursday at 10.30 am. Prasad Kumar will be the third Speaker of the Telangana Assembly, following S Madhusudhana Chary and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.
