Jogulamba Gadwal Police Department is actively combating drug abuse during the district’s Anti-Drug Awareness Week. Under the guidance of District Superintendent of Police Srinivas Rao, the police are organizing awareness campaigns and vehicle checks in various areas to educate the public, especially the youth, about the dangers of drug use.
In Aija, a seminar at the Government Degree College aimed to inform students about the harmful effects of drugs. Local Sub-Inspector Srinivas Rao spoke to students about how drug addiction damages lives and leads to criminal activities. He stressed the importance of staying away from drugs to honor the hard work of their parents. The session encouraged active participation from both students and staff.
Meanwhile, in Gadwal, Traffic Sub-Inspector Balachandrudu led a vehicle inspection near the Circle Inspector’s office. He warned about the health and financial impacts of drugs and tobacco products like gutkha and cigarettes. The inspection emphasized the importance of wearing helmets, with consequences for non-compliance, including fines and vehicle seizure. The drive involved traffic personnel including Ramesh, Sudhakar, Shivakumar, Yugender, and Vishnu.
In Nandinne, Sub-Inspector Bijja Srinivasulu conducted an awareness seminar at the Government Zilla Parishad High School in K.T. Doddi mandal. He highlighted the importance of guiding children to avoid drugs, emphasizing the societal role of teachers, parents, and community members in safeguarding the youth.
The common message from all three initiatives is the necessity of collective effort from law enforcement, educators, and the community to achieve a drug-free future. The ongoing programs aim to promote a healthier and safer environment in the Jogulamba Gadwal District. Authorities plan to continue these efforts throughout the Anti-Drug Awareness Week.
