Jogulamba Gadwal: With continuous rain and the Bakrid festival approaching, District Superintendent of Police T. Srinivasa Rao, IPS, has asked police officers to stay highly alert. This direction came during the monthly crime review meeting at the district police headquarters. Officers assessed last month’s cases and the progress of ongoing investigations.
SP Srinivasa Rao highlighted the need to stop fake seed sales during the agricultural season. He instructed police to team up with Task Force units for surprise checks on seed shops and warehouses, ensuring only certified seeds reach farmers. Educating farmers to buy seeds from authorized dealers was also emphasized.
Due to early monsoon rains, the SP urged officers to watch flood-prone areas and damaged roads to prevent accidents. He advised coordination with the R&B department on accident-prone spots and suggested police vehicles carry emergency supplies during patrols. Officers were warned against crossing overflowing streams and culverts without caution.
For Bakrid preparations, the SP ordered border checks to stop illegal cattle transport. Surprise inspections at these checkpoints were mandated, while Blue Colt and Dial 100 teams were told to increase village patrols. Citizens were encouraged to report suspicious activities via Dial 100 or local VPOs.
The SP reviewed the HRMS system’s use, pushing staff to handle leave requests, grievances, rewards, and discipline online for smoother administration. He insisted on uploading all case-related files to the CCTNS system and documenting actions taken on grievances from the “Prajavani” initiative.
Ensuring justice, the SP stressed completing investigations and filing charge sheets quickly. Officers were told to review court cases, especially on weekends, to ensure justice for victims and punishment for the accused.
To curb illegal activities like gambling and bootlegging, the SP called for increased patrolling. Teams were directed to conduct major vehicle checks, community programs, and regular drunk driving inspections. Awareness campaigns on traffic rules and cybercrime prevention were also highlighted.
The meeting included DSP Mogilayya, Circle Inspectors Ravi Babu (Alampur), Srinivas (Gadwal), Tata Babu (Shantinagar), SHOs, and officers from the IT and DC RB divisions.
