Hyderabad has seen changes in its registration system for births and deaths due to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) expanding to 300 wards. This move aims to offer better services to residents in these newly structured areas. The integration of 27 Urban Local Bodies prompted GHMC to enhance its registration and certification processes to ensure all citizens receive consistent service.
GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan shared that, in partnership with the Centre for Good Governance, they have mapped all 300 wards and 60 circles. This mapping includes both public and private healthcare facilities within the new boundaries. A major part of this initiative is the rollout of new software for birth and death registration and certification.
The updated digital system promises to make processes more transparent, speed up timelines, and improve the accuracy of official documents. Commissioner RV Karnan encouraged residents within the GHMC area to use these services at nearby MeeSeva centres for easy registration and certificate access. The system is crafted to provide faster and more citizen-friendly services, aligning with the expanded operations of the corporation.
