Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy promised full support to the film industry. He suggested that Telangana's Vision Document might feature a special section on cinema. He encouraged film industry leaders to propose ideas to make Hyderabad a global film hub.
At the first Gaddar Film Awards, Reddy highlighted the strength of the Telugu film industry. He called on directors like Rajamouli to help position Hyderabad as a prime location for both Bollywood and Hollywood productions. He asked Dil Raju, chairman of the state Film Development Corporation, to draft plans for the Vision of 2047. Reddy emphasized that the film industry could significantly boost the state’s economy, aiming for a $3 trillion economy by 2047 and $1 trillion by 2035. He assured that the government is ready to support these initiatives.
The Chief Minister noted that while the government is supportive, tough decisions are sometimes necessary. The film awards demonstrated the government’s recognition of artists and the industry.
Reddy emphasized Hyderabad’s growth, mentioning that 85 of the Fortune 500 companies have offices in the city. He urged the film industry to present their ideas, highlighting that Hyderabad competes with global cities. He also mentioned the influence of artists like Gaddar and Ande Sri, whose work continues to inspire the people of Telangana.
