The Telangana government has introduced a new policy to generate revenue by resolving Land Regularisation Scheme (LRS) applications. This new system aims to make the registration of open plots easier.

Under the new rules, open plots can now be registered even without link documents. This change simplifies the LRS process and makes it more accessible.

A “Pre-Registration Module” has been developed to help with the registration process. This module will benefit applicants from the 2020 LRS scheme as well as new applicants. The government has stated that applications without link documents will be processed only through this new system.

If at least 10% of plots in an unauthorised layout have already been sold, owners who obtained sale deeds on or before August 26, 2020, can also register their plots. This applies even if they did not apply for LRS. Additionally, LRS charges and open space charges will not be applied to these plots.

Due to the model code of conduct for MLC elections in some districts, the government has limited the implementation of this circular to Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Mahbubnagar districts. To speed up the LRS application process, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has introduced special measures, including raising awareness about the 25% discount offered by the government.

To assist applicants, help desks have been set up at zonal offices. As of Friday, these desks are available at Khairatabad, Secunderabad, LB Nagar, Serilingampally, Kukatpally, and Charminar zonal offices.
